ScreenScene for Mac
Your screenshots. Right here.
ScreenScene gives screenshots a home on your desktop: a refrigerator, weathered corkboard, clothesline, deli ticket rail, or hanging mobile. Requires macOS 14 or later.
Catch new screenshots
- Open ScreenScene and choose a folder for its files.
- In ScreenScene Settings, click Open Screenshot Options. ScreenScene copies the screenshot folder location.
- In the macOS Screenshot toolbar, choose Options → Other Location.
- Press Shift–Command–G, paste the copied location, then choose that folder.
- Take a screenshot. It will appear on your scene.
ScreenScene uses the folder you choose. You can change macOS’s screenshot destination later through Screenshot Options.
See the details
Hover over a card for a large preview of the full-color original. Click it for a window with Fit, 100%, and zoom controls.
Use and keep screenshots
Drag a card into another app. After a successful drop, the card turns gray and stays pinned. A canceled or rejected drop keeps it new. Clearing a card removes it from the scene without deleting the file. Open All Screenshots to find and re-pin cleared cards.
Make room
Scenes grow automatically as screenshots arrive, up to twice their starting area, within your display. Larger collections use pages. Settings also lets you change the scene size, show or hide gray cards, float the scene above other windows, and turn animation on or off. macOS Reduce Motion is supported.
Show the scene
Use the ScreenScene icon in the menu bar or press Control–Option–S. To add an existing image, click the plus button or choose Hang Images.
A screenshot is missing
Open ScreenScene’s screenshot folder and check that macOS saved the image there. A screenshot saved to the clipboard or Preview is not a file in that folder. Check Screenshot Options if needed. In All Screenshots, check the New, Used, and Cleared filters.
